Understand how crypto exchange fees work, how they affect your trades, and which exchanges offer the lowest fees for Mongolian users.
Spot trading fees apply when you buy or sell cryptocurrency at the current market price. Most exchanges use a maker/taker model. Makers add liquidity to the order book (lower fees). Takers remove liquidity by matching existing orders (slightly higher fees).
Futures trading fees are charged when you open or close a leveraged position. These fees are often lower than spot fees because of the higher volume. Funding fees (charged every 8 hours) also apply to perpetual futures.
Convert or swap fees apply when you instantly exchange one crypto for another without using the order book. This is usually the easiest method for beginners. The fee is often included in the exchange rate spread.
Withdrawal fees apply when you send crypto from the exchange to your personal wallet. Each blockchain (BTC, ETH, USDT on different networks) has its own fee. These fees vary based on network congestion.
P2P trading fees vary by platform. Some exchanges charge zero P2P trading fees. Sellers may include their own markup in the price. Buyers should check the final price including the seller's premium.
Most exchanges charge no fees for crypto deposits. Fiat deposits via P2P are also free. If depositing via credit card or third-party payment, additional fees may apply (often 1.5% – 3.5%).
